Hours: 48 hours per week (Days / Nights / Weekends / On-call)

Salary: €45,000 per year

Holidays: 20 – 22 days per annum pro-rata

Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to young refugees, ensuring their accommodation needs are met while offering essential social work services to facilitate their integration and well-being within the community.

Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Social Care Team Leaders to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing support to young refugees, possessing a deep understanding of the challenges they face and the resources available to assist them. The primary focus of this role will be to lead and support our social care teams while providing accommodation support, primary care, and comprehensive social care and social work services to young refugees, empowering them to develop and succeed in their new home.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide housekeeping support within the accommodation, including supporting residents with cleaning rooms, preparing meals, cooking, and laundry.
  2. Collaborate with other team members to develop individualized support plans for each young person, focusing on their unique strengths and challenges.
  3. Assist young people in securing suitable accommodation, liaising with landlords, housing authorities, and other relevant organizations as needed.
  4. Provide ongoing social care support to young people, offering advocacy and referrals to additional services as necessary.
  5. Monitor the progress of young people and adjust support plans as needed to ensure their evolving needs are met effectively.
  6. Work closely with local community organizations, government agencies, and other service providers to coordinate comprehensive support for young people.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
  8. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance service delivery and promote best practices in refugee support.
  9. Observe fire safety and emergency procedures and ensure staff and residents are prepared to respond appropriately.
  10. Work with outside professionals, agencies, and attend review meetings to advocate for and support young people.
  11. Provide leadership, support, and supervision to the staff team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  12. Provide on-call support to the staff team, including medical support and first aid when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Care, or a related field (such as Nursing or Teaching).
  • Professional accreditation or registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., CORU in Ireland).
  • High motivation to serve people with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or other vulnerable populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and services related to refugee support in Ireland.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages, particularly those spoken by refugee communities, is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential care centre for young people in care.
